Fitness? It’s so boring!

At times our cat friends are rather active. But more often they need time to relax and are not to be disturbed.

Wild Wild Cat

Any cat enjoys hunting.

It’s so exciting to sneak quietly behind the trees.

Stop and listen. Nobody can see me slinking out into the forest.

I’m invisible.

Ah, yes I knew you were chasing me.

Here I am — wild and serious.

No one’s cat

Look at the cat.

He’s sad and dirty and disappointed. Seems he’s not expecting too much. Just would be glad to get some food. Probably he doesn’t even know what’s the comfortable living in a nice house with people who would love and cherish him.

Sleeping angels

Hot sunny day. A quiet corner in a small city park.

This cat looks rather happy and calm. Not quite clear whether he’s indeed ownerless.

This guy is sleeping straight in the street under a wall. But his face shows a sweet serenity.

Think out of the box

Got a carton box? Going to cram it into a garbage bin? WAIT! It’s a cat toy!

A box or any size is a great gift for your cat.

Play with me!

Now you have a cat. And he wants to play. No toys? No problem.

Here are 3 easiest to make toys that every cat understands:

  1. “Butterfly”. Take a piece of paper (up to 3×3″) and a thread or lace (up to a couple of feet length will be just fine). Pinch the paper in the middle and tie up with one end of the lace/thread. Take another end into your hand and make the scrap fly, perch, flush and flit. If your cat is around, he should get interested.
  2. “Rustling ball”. Now you ideally need a piece of foil (maybe you have one left from a chocolate bar) but a sheet of paper will do too. Take it whatever you have got and
crumple it into a ball. The ball needs to be not very big — so not to scare you cat. Now when you see your cat is about –  roll the ball away from both you and the cat.
  3. “Clew”. If your are living with your granny or maybe you yourself or someone else in your family is into knitting, you probably know what is a clew. If you are new to this, no worries. Unfortunately, it’s not that easy to make a good clew if you don’t have a good thick thread, ideally wool. As an option you could unravel your socks or cap. But it’s probably better to go with either of the options 1 or 2 above.
